When the exhibition halls in Berlin fill up in early September, the latest technologies are showcased, and industry professionals from around the world come together, it is once again time for IFA. As one of the world’s leading trade shows for consumer electronics, smart home, home appliances and digital innovations, IFA has provided a platform for companies, media and technology enthusiasts for more than 100 years to discover new products, trends and developments. Particularly in the field of connected devices and digital ecosystems, the show offers exciting insights every year into the technologies that will shape our everyday lives in the future.
For us, however, IFA is much more than a showcase for products. Above all, it is a place for exchange – with customers, partners and industry colleagues. Especially in our field, where connected products, mobile applications, IT security, data privacy and regulatory requirements are becoming increasingly important, personal conversations are often impossible to replace. The trade show provides the ideal opportunity to discuss current challenges, develop new ideas and take a shared look at the future of the industry.
During our visit, we spent several days at the exhibition grounds, met with customers and had many interesting conversations. The discussions were not only about new products and technologies, but also about topics such as the security of connected devices, the requirements of the Cyber Resilience Act and the growing importance of security by design throughout the entire product lifecycle.
Alongside all the innovations and impressions from the exhibition floor, it was above all the personal encounters that made our IFA visit particularly special. We had the opportunity to meet many of our customers in person, discuss ongoing projects and look back together on what we have already achieved.
Some of these meetings also provided an opportunity for a special presentation: We were able to personally hand over AV-TEST’s “Approved IoT Product” certificates to our customers for successfully completed assessments. After working together on these projects, it is always a pleasure not only to send the result digitally, but to actually hand it over in person.
We kicked things off with a side event hosted by NUKI focusing on the Cyber Resilience Act and the resulting challenges and implications for manufacturers and users. In attendance were NUKI founders Martin and Jürgen Pansy, two selected experts on the topic – Luise Werner and our Lead IoT, Eric Clausing – as well as journalists from leading media outlets such as Computer Bild and Heise. At the conclusion of the event, we presented our certificate to Mr. Jürgen Pansy for the Nuki Smart Lock Pro (5th Gen.). Many thanks for the invitation, the truly pleasant atmosphere and our long-standing and consistently constructive collaboration!

At IFA itself, our first meeting was with Mr. Henning Koch, Product Manager Mechatronics at ABUS. We presented him with the certificate for the ABUS One solution, consisting of WINTECTO One, LOXERIS One, KEYGARAGE One, CYLOX One and BRIDGE One. Many thanks to him as well for his time and the great conversation.

At the BOSCH stand, we were delighted to present our certificate for the BOSCH Smart Home Controller II to Mr. Gabriel Wetzel, CEO of BOSCH Smart Home. We also had a very pleasant conversation about our now almost 10-year collaboration and, hopefully, the next 10 years of continued cooperation. Many thanks to Mr. Wetzel and his colleague Michel Meeh – as always, it was a pleasure!

The final presentation of our certificates took place with Mr. Andrzej Kaszycki, CTO at Tedee. After several years apart, we were delighted to meet Mr. Kaszycki in person again at IFA. We presented him with our certificate for the complete Tedee solution, consisting of the PRO, GO2, Bridge, Keypad PRO, Dry Contact, Door Sensor and Biometric Sensor.

Also still certified, but unfortunately unable to attend IFA in person, were Lupus Electronics for their XT1+ alarm system and rc-tec for the MCVisu XG app.
Congratulations to all the certified manufacturers, many thanks to all the representatives who joined us, and we look forward to seeing you again in 2027!
